The publishing and distribution ministries known as Cokesbury and Abingdon Press operate under the direction of the 44-member Board of The United Methodist Publishing House. Thirty of the members are elected by the church's five jurisdictional conferences; two are selected by the Council of Bishops; up to ten additional members are elected by the Board; and the President & Publisher serves by virtue of office.
